I know that using a marketing program enhances sales, customer participation, and employee morale.  

I am offering ideas for all potential holidays that can be celebrated or enhanced through food service operations.

* School Food Service

* Nursing homes/Assisted Living

* Corporate Dining

* Healthcare Food Service

Keep in mind that this information can be used for virtually any type of operation that deals in food and or the public!

I would suggest developing a long-range plan for this type of marketing but at least 30 days in advance allowing for appropriate planning and marketing potential.

Just click on the Month you are interested in looking at. You will see a calendar for the month and there is a list of specialized pages listed below the month on the side.

You can also click specialized lists and go to a list for the whole month of items that fall under that grouping of events. The "Food Holidays" sheet has the whole month of food holidays listed.  The "History Holidays" sheet list historical items that I find valuable or interesting. The sheet of "Miscellaneous Holidays" lists holidays that have become accepted through out the nation or world and they are items that are interesting/or fun. On the sheet with "Monthly/Weekly Events" are listed National Holidays that last for several days to a week and those that last a whole month or longer.  The item "Causes" is a list of days, weeks, months that bring awareness of medical conditions or causes, along with other causes that may be of interest to you and your customer base.  These are usually not all applicable to food service but often businesses want to participate in community issues or have employees get behind a cause so they are listed for you.

All the Holidays (when possible) are linked to Internet sites that offer more information about the event.
