As we start the beginning of a New Year I would suggest that you review all aspects of your business.  From the minutia to the big picture.  It is not required that you personally review every detail - learn to delegate but oversee the end result and do get progress reports/information. Make sure that you are not just ready for the New Year but ready to excel and achieve more in all areas than in the past. 

This is a cold weather month - think soups, stews, and casseroles.  Think items that you can make and then resell for "To Go" to add to your retail business.  Think about ways to increase your business/market.  Of course using this site for marketing ideas is great but look around your specific area.  Are you missing a niche market that you think you should have?  Are there ways for you to increase your business by expanding into some other areas?  If you are a restaurant can you accommodate some catering?  Outside meal service?

If you are a Cafeteria could you participate in Meals on Wheels or School lunches?

If you are a Bar could you offer some snacks or sandwiches?

How about gift baskets?

The point is think about expanding your service in ways that will also increase your current business or add to its services.

Take some time to develop an annual marketing program - pick at least two items monthly and start planning now how you will promote them.
