National Food Services Employees Day
Without your employees (wait staff, kitchen staff, reception, everyone counts!) - where would you be? Honor them and make sure that you thank them! If you are a health care facility make sure that you really put some thought into this as they provide for every other department and deserve some special treatment
If you have any of these families in your area I would go out of the way to honor them.
If you have a local comic book store then talk with them about a promotion - it is getting close to Halloween; maybe you want to let your staff dress as their favorite comic book character - that might be fun

Put out Trivia information - have a contest and give away a video of one of the star's movies
If you have a theater that promotes old films talk with them about profiling a particular star around this period and see if you can purchase discounted tickets to give away
